Cactus To-do list PDF

Hi guys,

So I recently got an iPad Pro and the Apple pencil to go with it! I searched around for a good note app and decided to go with Goodnotes.  One of the great things about Goodnotes is that you can pretty much import any PDF and use it! I discovered Youtube had so many videos on creating and using cute notebooks, planners, and etc. in Goodnotes.  I decided I just wanted to make something basic and cute as a to-do list and wanted to share with you guys.  It’s completely free for you to use also. You can also download it and print it out if you want!

I’ve also created a separate instagram for reviews and stuff like this: @kerokeltalk

Have a great evening!

Museum of Ice Cream!

Museum of Ice Cream announced that they were extending tickets for one last time in Los Angeles for the some time during the month of December! I think it’s already sold out though, sadly.

It reminded me of early October when I went and thought about sharing it with you!

I was able to buy the tickets about a month in advance. It was a few days after they just released more tickets and most of the good weekend dates such as Friday and Saturday were already taken.  The remaining days were usually weekdays or Sunday evenings.  I did find an opening for Sunday, October 2nd at 3pm which worked out for me because my fiancé tends to work Saturday anyways.

The Museum of Ice Cream was located near 7th Street and Alameda in Downtown LA.  The area reminded of Art District. The location did seem a bit iffy you continued behind the Museum a few blocks.

There were a few places to park. You can try to find street parking, free on Sundays.  There were multiple parking lots that charged a fee.  They were charging $5 that day.  Or you can park valet for $6 which was right behind the Museum.

When we arrived, we had to get in line and they would let you in by groups, due to the small exhibit rooms.  There was an area to the side where you could relax before heading in if you wanted.  It was a nice green area with benches and fun things to do.  I saw the kids enjoying it while a parent would be in line.  Before you get in, the employee would hype us up and had us swear to not touch the bananas or popsicle .  My fiancé, of course, ended up forgetting ant touched them anyways.

Each room had its own theme and for the most part, I think every room gave you something to eat.  It was usually ice cream or candy.  Also, once you left a room, you can’t go back.  You can only move forward.

I think my favorite room was probably the Sprinkle Pool. It was smaller than I thought but the room was huge though. My second favorite room was probably the swings!

Okay, now for the pictures!

Kathleen Lights – KL Polish

I love Kathleen Lights! She’s so down to earth and I truly feel like she’s honest about her reviews.  I was super excited to find out that she started a brand called, KL Polish, for nail polish.  If you haven’t heard of her or her new line, definitely go check it out! There’s also a sale going on right now for the full set of Spring collection!

I got two colors from her first release in Spring 2017, St. Clair and Miss Honey.

St. Clair is described as:

This pretty periwinkle shade will make your nails POP!

Periwinkle blue pastel nail polish. Creme finish. Cruelty-free. Vegan. 5/7/9-free.

Miss Honey is described as:

The perfect shade for Spring, Miss Honey is a warm, melon hue.

Melon-pink nail polish. Creme finish. Cruelty-free. Vegan. 5/7/9-free.

Quality & Color

The nail polish, with a basecoat and topcoat, lasts a little over a week.  It’s very opaque. You can get away with one coat but I personally prefer two coats to get the same color as the bottle.

If you buy single ones, they are $8.50 each. US shipping is a flat fee of $4.95 per order, and Canadian shipping is $8.95 per order.  There are no refunds or exchanges unless it gets broken in the mail.
Processing & Shipping

It took 1 day for processing, which is the time I ordered until the time it shipped.  It take 1 day for shipping time.

I think it’s totally worth it. The colors are so pretty and I think it’s pretty unique.  She has both neutral and bold colors.  I think the price point is pretty good.  Some nail polishes cost more than $10 like OPI.  Even Essie is pretty close, $9.  If you sign up by email, you can get a coupon for 10% off.

Rothy’s Flats

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It’s been so long since I posted anything! Life’s just been a bit hectic.

I work in an office that requires business casual attire Monday through Thursday which means that it’s either heels or flats for shoes.  I’m definitely not someone that would sacrifice sleep to wake up early every workday morning to get dolled up for work, unfortunately! I’m the kind of person  that throws on random slacks with random blouses, a warm cardigan, and go! It’s also hard to be dressed up since I take public transportation to work.

Sadly, my overworn $15 black flats from Payless were falling apart. Literally! Pieces of the fake leather is falling off.. 😅 I’ve tried Steve Madden flats and Kohl’s cushioned flats, but nothing came close to Payless.  The only thing about it is they just don’t last! So I started researching if there’s any flats out there that are actually comfortable.

I came across Tieks and Rothy’s.

Tieks are around the $200 range and they’re super bendable.  You can put them in your purse or even pockets. It has a fake leather look and with many colors and designs.

Rothy’s are $125 with two main designs, a round toe flat and a pointed toe flat.  They come in a variety of colors also but less than Tieks.  It has more of a canvas fabric.  Rothy’s is actually made out of reusable plastic that they’ve turned into thread to make these shoes! And they’re also machine washable and then air dried.

I chose to go with Rothy’s! They had me at machine washable! And I’m not really into the scrunchy leather look of flats, if you know what I mean.

The Lowdown!

Side, Top, Bottom Views of Rothy’s The Flat

View of both pairs together!

I’m usually a size 6.5 in most shoes.  Based on other reviews, I ended up going with size 7 even though the site says they are true to size.  I was worried that it might be loose and fall off my feet when walking which is my problem with most flats.  If it’s my size, they’re a bit too tight in the toes. But if I go a size higher, they fall off.  Size 7 turned out to be perfect!

I went with a more traditional professional color, navy.  I was actually deciding between Black, Navy (this one), and cherry solid.  I absolutely loved the cherry solid but I was in need of a staple color I can wear with all clothes. So that narrowed it down to black and navy! I ended up going with navy all because of the bright blue soles! It really stands out from the side view! It’s a neutral solid color but still has a cool pop to it!

Photo from Rothy’s Website (Click on photo to go to the website!)

Side view while worn

As you can see, the shoes looks just like advertised!

It’s seriously so comfortable! Almost feels like slippers. For a product that’s actually made out of plastic, it’s very flexible and comfortable.  The only thing that might bother you is the area behind your ankle. It comes with removable insoles so I believe you can use your own if you have some.  But I find the one it comes with is already pretty comfortable. My toes have a good amount of space and they don’t fall off when walking which was my main concern!

I believe it was totally worth it to invest in a more expensive flats! Maybe one day I’ll give Tieks a try when I decide to do a bigger splurge.  But for now I’m eyeing that cherry color flats form Rothy’s for my next purchase!  Btw I still haven’t had the need to wash them but when I do, I’ll try to update about it!

Have a great rest of your Monday everyone and hope this post helped if you were looking for new flats!

Too Faced: Chocolate Bar.

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I last made a review!

The other day I was testing out a makeup look for my Emilia cosplay and realized I needed more base eyeshadows.  If you guys would like to follow my Instagram where I post cosplay related stuff, follow me @Kellyjellycosplay.  The Naked 3 is really the only big eyeshadow palette that I have.  It has a lot of pink colors but not enough matte browns to use for base colors.  I was actually deciding between the Tartlette in Bloom palette, Chocolate Bar, or one of the Too Faced palettes.  In the end, I fell in love with the swatches from the Chocolate Bar!  And… it smells soooo good!! It smells like hot chocolate! Yumm!

Too Faced – The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette (Source: Sephora)

The packaging is so cute!! Sorry the lighting isn’t that good! 😦

The back of the box lists all the colors in the same way the palette is set up.

I really love how buttery and easy it is to blend!  Most of the colors are really pigmented.  I think the only color that really doesn’t show up well is White Chocolate which you’ll see from the swatches, that it’s really hard to see unless you’re looking in a specific angle with really good lighting to even see the swatch.  I love all the browns, both matte and shimmers!  There is a bit of fallout with the shimmers.  You’ll find glitter on your cheeks when applying it.  However, the fallout really isn’t that bad.  I don’t personally mind it.  It has 16 total shades.  I wore it with Etude House Primer from 1 PM in the afternoon to 11 PM at night.  That’s 10 hours! And it still looks just like when I first applied it!  It’s so long lasting!

Time to see the swatches!! Warning!! Photo heavy!

Influenster: ZzzQuil

There’s nights where you know you have to wake up early tomorrow and your body cannot adjust accordingly.  I’ve been using ZzzQuil for a while now even before I received this sample courtesy of Influenster.  I received the sample for testing purposes.

Note that ZzzQuil is not for pain. It is just for Sleep.  It’s strongly advised that when taking ZzzQuil, you should give yourself 7-8 hours to sleep or you will wake up groggy and tired.

I try to give myself about an hour for the medicine to kick in.  Once you feel that you’re starting to get sleepy, go to sleep. From my experience, don’t try to fight it or try to stay awake longer.  You will end up not being able to sleep but feeling super drowsy as if your body is asleep but your mind is still awake.  It really helps me sleep completely through the night and feel well rested.

It’s also supposed to not be habit-forming which I find is true as long as you don’t depend on it every night.  Use it only when you know you need to.

HASK Bamboo Oil Strengthening Hair Care Collection

Hask hair care was kind enough to send me the Bamboo Oil Strengthening set through Brandbacker that comes in the cutest drawstring bag.

Here’s a little background on the company!

HASK is a collection of hair care products featuring exotic oils and other unique ingredients from around the world.  Initially introduced in Europe in 2012 with great success, distribution of the HASK Exotic Oil range has expanded worldwide over the past four years. The range appeals to women around the world of all ethnicities and with all hair types. Utilizing high quality ingredients, luxurious fragrances and fresh packaging, the HASK Exotic Oil range provides consumers with high-performance, salon quality results at an affordable price.

The set includes the following items:

  1. Bamboo Oil Strengthening Shampoo ($5.99)
  2. Bamboo Oil Strengthening Conditioner ($5.99)
  3. Bamboo Oil Strengthening Deep Conditioner Packette ($2.99)
  4. Bamboo Oil Strengthening Shine Oil ($2.99)

It seems that they are available at Ulta beauty stores.  I’ve seen some items from the brand also at Target.

Bamboo Oil Strengthening Shampoo
The shampoo claims to do the following:

  • Reinforces hair strands and nourishes hair
  • Protect fragile hair from damage and breakage
  • Improves flexibility and prevent split ends
  • Uses ProDefense Complex, biotin, and collagen
  • For all hair types

Bamboo Oil Strengthening Conditioner
The conditioner claims to do the same as the shampoo.  I believe that its necessary to use it in a set to get the most benefit.

Verdict for Shampoo & Conditioner: (4/5) It does seem to do as it claims, reinforcing weak hair.  My hair was pretty dry and damaged from blow drying every time I showered which was about 3-4 times a week.  After about two uses, my hair did seem to be less fragile and felt stronger.  However because my hair is dry, I prefer to use shampoos and conditioners that are more for “smoothing and softening” or keeping it straight.  Hask does have a line specifically for what I’m looking for so I might go and buy that set to give it a try.  I’m not sure if it helps prevent split ends because I already have split ends.

Bamboo Oil Strengthening Deep Conditioner
The conditioner came in a blue packette.  The instructions said to apply on wet clean hair for about 10 minutes, and then rinse.  It also states to use only for once or twice a week.  I personally found this inconvenient.  I don’t really have the time to shower and then wait for 10 minutes to get back in the shower to rinse it off. I have hair masks and other deep conditioners that instructed for only 3-5 minutes which is more ideal for me.  It is priced very cheap though.  I did give it a try but I think I only left it on for about 5 minutes.  It didn’t really seem to do much.  The Pantene Deep Conditioner and Aussie 3-Minute Miracle does more in just 3 minutes.  (1/5)

Bamboo Oil Strengthening Shine Treatment
This oil claims to be lightweight and alcohol-free and is supposed to instantly absorbing oil provides hair with a luminous glow leaving no greasy residue.  I think all it really does is add shine to your hair.  I don’t think it contributes to the health of your hair at all.  If anything, I had to shower a day earlier because it made my hair a bit oilier.  I even tried to use a small amount, just enough for my ends.  (4/5) I would say that it does what it claims though.

Overall, I thought the products were different from what I usually use and it really is affordable.  If you’re looking for a healthier brand to try out, give Hask a try!  I thought the products worked well for it claimed to do.  However, I think I will be sticking to my Pantene shampoo and conditioner for now.

Disclaimer: The product was sent to me for free in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I was not paid to write this review. All statements above are my own.

(Collective) ColourPop Haul.

Hello awesome people!

On trending ColourPop news, Jenn Im just had a collaboration together and it is to die for!  I love Jenn’s style since she started her career on Youtube.  She’s got a sweet, yet fun style which totally translates into her collab.

They always hand-write the postcards! So cute!

There was a promotion when the collab first went live.  However, you couldn’t use any promotional codes.  Instead, you get a free limited edition Super Shock eyeshadow in the color “Birthday Boy” with any purchase.  Shipping in the U.S. is about $5. Processing & shipping took about a little more than a week.  Because I paid using Paypal with e-Check, the process took longer than if I just paid with a Credit Card.  So shipping is actually pretty quick.  There are two items that I actually bought a while back but I was waiting to buy more stuff from Colourpop to do a collective haul.

Top to Bottom (Left Side only): Lumiere Lippie Stix, Dohee Lippie Pencil, Dohee Ultra Satin Lip

I love the formula of the Lippie Stix and Ultra Satin Lips.  It’s not too drying and the colors are amazing.  I really like Dohee in both the pencil and liquid lipstick.  Dohee is perfect for the spring and summer.  It’s a bright orange coral color.  I have really fair skin so I was worried it would either wash me out or be way too bright, but it turned out to be a good match!  Lumiere on the other hand was a bit too dark.  It looks more of a dark mauve than other people’s swatches.  I think it might work if I was going for a vampy look.  The Lippie Pencil and Lippie Stix are priced at $5 each, while the Ultra Satin Lip is priced at $6.  For the pigmentation and quality of these lippies, the price is very inexpensive.  Be warned that they do transfer easily though.

Birthday boy is very shimmery and matte.  It’s described as “cool tone golden shade.” Unfortunately since it was limited edition, you cannot buy it anywhere.  Cornelious is described as a “Mid-tone warm caramel in a Matte Finish”.  I love both colors and I am absolutely in love with Colourpop eyeshadows.  It’s so easy to apply and so pigmented.  The colors are beautiful.  They are only $5 a pop! Such a steal right?!

I can’t wait to buy more from them!

Hope you guys enjoyed the post!

First Impressions: Wet N Wild Brushes

I’ve been waiting for Wet N Wild to restock these brushes for a while now and finally got my hands on them! I bought them all online because Walgreens only carry like 4 kinds of brushes from the entire line.

The shipping was very fast despite the Memorial weekend! It took a bit less than a week.  I placed the order on May 26 and received today, June 2.

I love how soft the brushes are and the color is so cute.  There’s a bit of a dent on the brushes that I’m assuming is for you to hold the brush easier, but I’m not sure if it’s useful or not.  It kind of takes away from the look of the brush.

The plastic that each brushes comes in gives a description of each brush and the details.  The brushes themselves do not have its name or a code or anything to distinguish which brush it is.  That kind of sucks if you want to know which one it is.  I also don’t like that it squishes the brush because it’s more like a sleeve.  Personally, I think it would’ve been better if they sold it in a box packaging or just on its own with some kind of protection for the brush hairs.  That way it can keep its shape.

Most of the brushes were $2.99 except for the Crease brush which was $0.99.  Shipping to California cost $4.06.  These brushes are definitely affordable and are pretty good quality.  I know that not all the brushes from the line are good quality though.  It’s a hit or miss similarly to Morphe brushes, another affordable brand.  It’s pricier than Elf brushes though.  Compared to my Real Technique and Zoeva brushes, it does lack in brush hair quality.  The Wet N Wild brushes are not as soft as those but they are still good brushes though.

I love the crease brush the most out of all them.  It’s a great fluffy blending brush.

I am excited to really try these out and give it more detailed review on its performance.  I do believe that if you can afford the U.S. Shipping, definitely give Zoeva brushes a try.  It’s actually not that expensive.  Shipping is really what kills your pockets. I still love my Rose Gold Zoeva set with a passion.

May Ipsy Bag.

Hello everyone!

I actually canceled my Ipsy subscription for a few months now until I received an e-mail that totally reeled me in.  They were offering a free em eyeshadow palette with the May bag if I subscribed again but only for 48 hours!  I originally unsubscribed because even though it was matching me to what I originally put on my personality quiz, what I really wanted to get in my bags were brushes.  I know that a lot of people get at least one brush every bag and were getting tired of brushes.  Even when I changed my quiz every month and did the reviews, I was still not getting brushes.  So that’s why I originally unsubscribed.

I’ve always wanted to try out the em products ever since Michelle Phan launched her cosmetic lines but haven’t got a chance.

This month’s bag is really cute! I love that it opens up like an envelope.  So far all the bags I’ve received are closed with a zipper but this one has a button.  I’m looking forward to all the things in the bag this month!

Theme: Destination Chic

Ipsy’s May 2016 Glam Bag

IT Cosmetics: No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner (Sample Size, Full Size $22.00) (5/5)
The first item I was excited to try was the gel eyeliner. I’ve been looking for a good eyeliner for the waterline.

Gel Eyeliner Swatch

The swatch in the picture above is even after I tried to rub it off with just my fingers and then again, with some water. It did not budge at all! I give it a 5/5! It totally exceeded my expectations!  According to the box packaging, the eyeliner will set in 30 seconds.  When I was cleaning my hands with a Lysol wet wipe, it came easily so I would assume that it’s easily removable with makeup remover.  I think that’s fine though because you won’t need to pull on your skin too much to remove it.

Em Cosmetics – Artistic Eye Color Palette – Shade Play: London Greys ($28) (3/5)

Em Cosmetics Artistic Eyeshadow Palette in London Grey

After the eyeliner, the eyeshadow palette was next on my list! I believe this is a full-size eyeshadow palette.  On the Em Cosmetics website, it’s priced at $28.  That’s already more than the cost of my bag!  Sadly, they don’t have a name for each of the color so I’ll just have to describe the colors.

All the colors are shimmery, but some are more than others.  The palette comes with a bright navy blue, a dark navy blue that’s almost black, a grey, a cream-white, a bronze, and a light-nude peach.  I found that the colors with more shimmer (cream white, bronze, dark navy) were easily pigmented.  I didn’t have to go through it with many swipes to get the nice color.  The other colors were pigmented also but took some time to build up.

This is the swatches shown from their website. It’s not as pigmented as this picture unless you really build up with a lot of product.

It also comes with two tiny brushes.  One of them is a double ended brush with an angled brush on one side and a fluffy brush on the other.  I find that the brushes would be way too small to use.

I do like the palette but I don’t like that it takes some time to build up.  Compared to Colourpop and Naked Palette, it’s not as creamy.  I do think that it’s a pretty good palette to take on the go and the colors are great for a smoky night time look.  I also love that there’s a big mirror on the compact.

The packaging itself is sleek and simple.  It’s an acrylic case. It opens magnetically. Some people don’t like it but I think it’s pretty cool.  It’s definitely not as cute as Too Faced palettes.

For this, I would rate 3/5.  It’s not bad and the price is decent.  There’s just better palettes out there. For example, Colourpop eyeshadows are cheaper and I find that quality and pigmentation is better.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – Caribbean Sun Bronzer Duo: Aruba (Sample Size, Full size $24.95) (4/5)

I really liked the Bronzer Duo. This is in the color set, Aruba.  The right side in the picture below is the blush.  It’s a peachy color.  The left side is the bronzer.  I’ve only swatched it so far but I really love the quality of it.  It’s super blendable and really pigmented.  It’s also easily buildable.  The only complaint I have is that the compact is very ugly.  It just looks so cheap and boring, almost something out of the dollar tree.  The mirror is gives a plus though.  The packaging it came in is so much better looking.  I just wish more effort was put in to the compact than the packaging it came in.

I loved the how it looks, swatched.  The combination of the two would look perfect during summer for that nice peachy beach glow.  I have super fair, neutral skin tone so these colors really give me some color.  I don’t have any bronzers in my collection yet so I don’t know how it compares to others.  But from what I’m experiencing, I’m giving it a 4/5, less one star for ugly packaging.

Glamour Dolls: Blending Brush #10 Sperm Whale Edition ($3.99) (3/5)

Finallllyyy! My first brush from an Ipsy Bag! It’s a fluffy blending brush.  You can never get enough blending brushes! It’s soft and dense enough.  The whale design is pretty cute.  I haven’t tried it yet so I don’t know how well it picks up shadows.  Price-wise, Morphe brushes and even Wet N Wild brushes can be considered a bit better and cheaper, too.  So I gave it a mediocre rating.

Trissola: Chia Smoothing Hair Treatment Oil (Amazon $27.97?) (No rating)

I haven’t tried this product out yet but it does smell nice, not too strong.  Trissola‘s website doesn’t show the price on this item but on Amazon, it’s being sold for about $29 for 2 ounces (the link is in the title).  However, the Amazon one is spray while this one uses a medicine dropper.  I personally would prefer a spray bottle for more convenience.  Sorry guys, I don’t have a rating for this one yet.

Crazy Rumors: HibisKiss Natural Lip Color in Coral ($4.99) (3/5)

It is a colored lip balm, very similar to Baby Lips I previously reviewed about (Chapsticks Reviews).  It’s not as moisturizing but it does feel nice and gives your lips a slight bronzey tint.  I don’t really like the smell.  It smells like most natural organic cosmetics smell like, a bit plastic-like.  I do think that I would use it but for $5, I’m not sure if I purchase this, 3/5.

Well, that’s it for my review on this month’s bag.  What was your favorite item if you got one also?
