Character Face Mask – Fox

The Face Shop’s Character Face Mask in Fox.

Hi everyone! I found this while browsing The Face Shop over the weekend and thought it was so cute! I must try!

The mask is said to be moisturizing for dry and flaky skin which is perfect for the dry winter skin.  I saw my friend’s Instagram with the pig one.  It’s pretty funny.

The instructions said to clean and tone your face first before using which is what most facial masks will tell you.

Am i a fox yet?!

Isn’t it funny?! I think I make a pretty good fox! Lol just kidding.  It’s very moisturizing and there’s so much serum that there’s a bit left in the bag when you pull it out.  It only comes with one mask and costs $4 USD.    It smells pretty nice too.  Reminds me of a flowers.  It’s smaller than the Sephora masks.  Width wise it fits my small face pretty well but it’s a bit long.  Overall, it’s a pretty good fit and it’s feels very nice and moisturizing even after I take it off!

IMATS 2016 Haul.

Today was the last day for the IMATS convention! I heard a lot of great things about the convention and decided to take my sister.  I actually wanted to go on Saturday but the tickets were sold out when I went to check the tickets online at the beginning of the month.  It was pretty last minute sadly.

Most of the items I bought and some free samples.

The IMATS convention was at Pasadena Convention Center for three days starting since Friday for PRO card holders.  For general admission, the first day started yesterday and ended today.  The admission ticket was $60.  I think Pro Card Holders tickets were only $40? It was a very big discount.

The wristband after getting through the entrance line!

Our first stop was at April Love’s booth.  They had one of those spinning wheel for free stuff.  I won a $500 voucher to take the class.  The representative said the total cost would be $2500 for the makeup academy.  I don’t plan on being a professional makeup artist so this voucher was a waste on me. My sister on the other hand got the lash glue.

I was hoping to get an eyelash curler or something else sadly.  If anyone wants the voucher, feel free to let me know.

I also stopped by Velour to check out their lashes.  I ended up getting the popular Whispies based on their recommendation for someone whose never worn lashes before.  I love them! They also helped customers who purchase something to apply them.

The lashes were evenly on but you can see one side pretty good. ^_^”

I also got an aloe cream from Hawaiian Moon.  It was $43 after tax.  The lady said she would give me a good deal and included 3 small sample size jars that I gave to my mom.  It’s not sticky at all and feels very moisturizing.

Next, I picked up the Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint + Velvet in the color Cailyn.  It’s kind of a nude color when it dries matte on your lips.  But it’s very pigmented and it’s super long lasting.  Water and soap are not going to take it off.  You’re going to need makeup remover to really get it off. It will make your lips dry so best to properly prepare your lips. It was the second to last one in that color.  They were selling it for $15 or 5 for $50.  But I didn’t want to spend so much on lippies.

Then we finally got to the Sigma booth.  I got the makeup brush cleaning mat and a brush case for my mom.  Each one was about $25.  They gave us two free brushes and a sample of a liquid lipstick for the purchase.  The brushes were the E70 angled shading brush and a kabuki brush but I gave the kabuki one to my mom also.

I bought two other brushes but not from Sigma, a lash one and bent eyeliner.

And that’s it! That’s everything I got from the convention!

January Ipsy Bag.

The holidays are over sadly.. But it’s a new year! As always I keep telling myself I’ll work out after the New Years but I haven’t gotten myself to do that yet.  The typical New Year’s resolution that never comes true, we all know too well.
I’m really excited about this bag because as I keep reviewing and changing my personality quiz around, it’s getting better and better!

This month’s Ipsy bag is all about eyes! The cute bag is very durable and has an artsy design of a colorful girl wearing sunglasses.

Trestique Mini Matte Lip Crayon: Florence Fig (5/5)

I really like the color they gave me for this one. It’s a more natural color, kind of brownish pink.  I’ve gotten this lip crayon before and it’s always a great find.  It’s super pigmented and goes on creamy.  It will leave a bit of a pink stain after it rubs off.  Similar to other one that I’ve tried, they won’t last all day but probably a good 4 hours through light eating.  I don’t think this formula could last through many meals.

OFRA Eyebrow Pencil: Universal (3/5)

It’s an okay pencil. I prefer a bit more of a creamy texture.  The texture of this pencil is exactly as it looks, pencil like.  It does have good pigmentation and is a very brown color.  Some eyebrow pencils that come in brown are not that dark but this one could be a dark brown if you apply it a few times.  I prefer Asian brands of eyebrow pencils though.  It’s more tailored to my skin tone.

Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner Pencil: Jac (5/5)

I absolutely love this pencil.  It’s creamy and super pigmented.  It has a bit of a glittery sparkle to it.  The color Jac is a dark bronze color.  The lasting power on this is awesome!  Pair this with the Formula X nail polish I got in the last bag, would’ve made a great Party look.  I think this would look great if used as an eyeshadow and blended out also. Many ways to use this.

City Color Eyeshadow Trio: Falling Leaves (4/5)

It comes in three colors, hence Trio.  The top color is a glittery bronze/copper color.  The left bottom is more of a peachy shimmer.  And the right third is a matte mauvish color. It’s really easy to apply and doesn’t come off chalky.  It’s also very pigmented.  However, the only Con I found was that it washes off really easily when I swatched it on my hand.  With just water, it came right off so I don’t know how it would last on a hot day during summer.  I do love the colors though.  It’s perfect for fall and winter.  It’s also more of natural shades so it can be used for everyday looks.

Promise Organic Ultra Moisturizing Argan Creme Facial Lotion with Olive Oil (4/5)

Between a cream and liquid consistency, it’s a bit closer to liquid but not so watery that it drips.  For something organic, it smells pretty good.  It smells like the usual Argan oil smell.  It’s very moisturizing.
Thanks for viewing!

Products I found in 2015 you have to try!

I found this really helpful! Especially the setting spray. I’ve been trying to find a inexpensive one.

Better late then never! I was actually putting this post off because I knew I would repeat a lot of products already mentioned on my blog but these products are worth it and deserve all the praise I give them. So here we are, my favourite products of 2015 …..

EYES/BROWS/MASCARA

L’oreal Lash Sensational– My most repurchased, most used and, most favourite mascara! This gives you long, separated lashes that don’t flake away! I do enjoy how the water proof version makes my lashes look but it’s impossible to remove without an oil based makeup remover.

Too faced Natural Matte Palette – This is my perfect palette because all the shades are matte and look good dusted in the crease (except the white) which is all I do most days. It also has a good variety of shades to give lots of options for eye looks.

Ipsy December Glam Bag.

Bag received December 15.

I received my bag really early this month! And I’m pretty interested in this bag.

The Power of Love in Nudie Red.  It’s a pinkish nude.  I really like the color but it smells like a crayon and kind of feels like a crayon too.  It doesn’t apply creamy but surprisingly the color is very pigmented and doesn’t look chalky. (3/5) The smell is a big turnoff but for the amount of lipstick they gave for a sample, I gave back some points.

Formula X in Revved Up is a really great color for the holidays.  It’s a gold shimmer color.  Just in time for New Years Parties!  I’ve heard great reviews about Formula X but the full price at Sephora is a bit on the expensive side so I’ve never tried it.  But now I have the chance! Thanks Ipsy! (5/5) It’s lasted very well so far but it’s only been one day.

Befine’s Exfoliating Mask feels very rough since it’s a brown sugar scrub.  It’s claims to be paraben free so that’s good!  I feel like it does work well, just really rough.  (4/5)

Clarke’s Botanicals can be used two ways, either as a mask or a moisturizer.  To use it as a mask, you apply a generous amount and leave it on for 15-20 minutes then rinse.  To use it as a moisturizer, you just apply it normally but sparingly.  As a moisturizer, it works pretty well.  Makes your skin feel soft and hydrated after those winter showers.  The smell reminds me of baby lotion but a bit more herb like. It’s not a bad smell to me though.  It’s creamy texture but very liquid-like.  Compared to my Ahava moisturizer, it’s not as thick.  I prefer Ahava for very dry skin compared to this and the full size for this costs about $60-$70 depending you get it from Amazon or Sephora. Ahava’s moisturizer is around $40.  It didn’t seem to keep my face moisturizer the next morning.  I had dry patches around my mouth this morning.  The Ahava one keeps me moisturizer much longer than just one winter night. (2/5) For such a high end product, it wasn’t very long lasting.

The last item is the Concealer Brush by Beau Gâchis Paris.  It feels really nice and the bristles don’t fall off from just brushing it back and forth.  I think it’s also a pretty good size. (5/5) No complaints.

And the bag itself is really cute this month.  I like the pattern and the nice red color! Perfect timing for Christmas and a classy New Year!

Ipsy December Glam Bag Preview.

I’m excited for the December Glam Bag from Ipsy!  Here’s the sneak peak of the bag that I’m going to get. I’m looking forward to the concealer brush and nail polish!  I was hoping to get brushes in the last bag.  The bag is also hot this month!
Did you guys view your sneak peak? What did you get?

Perona Cosplay- WIP.

So far all my posts have been about makeup, clothing, and skincare.  But I wanted to share with you guys a project I’ve been slowly working out.

Just so you guys can get to know me a little bit better, I absolutely love anime and all things related.  I’ve been watching anime and reading mangas since I was introduced to it when I was in middle school at 12 years old.  I’ve also been going to Anime Expo every year for the last 3 years.  Last July, I made my first cosplay as Neliel Tu from Bleach. For someone whose never really done this before, I was pretty proud of it. I had a lot of fun.

So this year! I’m planning to cosplay as Perona from One Piece. I really think she’s a fun character in the story and she has a very unique power.  I’d definitely recommend the anime, One Piece.  I do believe it’s so popular and been going on for so long!

Here’s a picture of what I’m starting on right now.  I used Avery 3971 to print out her shirt design I found online and ironed it on the a crop top I bought from Amazon.

I still need add the trims she has on her shirt.  Meanwhile, I’m also starting on her cape/jacket/shawl thing.  I bought all my fabrics already and my wig.

If you enjoy these kind posts, be sure to like and follow for more! Thanks guys!

November Ipsy Bag.

November Glam Bag

Finally! The long awaited review! Sorry for the delay, life’s just been busy lately.  I guess I’ll start from left to right.

Novex: Brazilian Keratin (2/5)

It’s one of the new products going around, hair food. It claims to “reinforce the structure of the hair, increasing shine and leaving hair healthy, manageable and soft to the touch” due to the keratin. I don’t find that it’s very effective. It does help to keep your hair soft but there’s a lot of better hair products out there. Not too excited about it. The competition is just better and about the same price.  The retail price for the full size goes for around $16.

Smashbox: Full Exposure Mascara (1/5)

I was really excited about this one but it was a huge disappointment. It really didn’t do much for my Asian stubborn lashes.  And it didn’t last long.  If you’re going for natural lashes this might be a good one for you.  I’m still searching for a mascara that will really make my lashes pop.  I have long lashes that refuse to stay curled for long.  The drugstore mascaras are much more effective than this.

Trestique: Mini Matte Lip Crayon (4/5)

IMG_4652.JPG

I got it in the color Chili Red.  It’s very pigmented.  It’s a very vivid red. I think it would look really good on fair skin.  It applies very creamy.  It’s similar to the Bite lip crayons but not as matte.  Thus, not as drying. However, it does smear easily so a lip liner is a must.  I noticed that even though it fades off, it does leave a pink tint so that’s a plus.  If you plan on wearing it through meals, you will likely need to reapply a few times.  I do recommend this one.

Jelly Pong Pong: Liquid Gossamer (4/5)

It’s a very pigmented pink shimmer.  The directions suggest using on your cheekbones, brow bones, and down the middle of your nose.  It sounds like a highlighter but personally, I feel like it would look better as an eyeshadow than a highlighter since its so shimmery and pigmented.  It’s also pretty creamy.

INSPR Eyeshadow – Carnival (5/5)

This is also very pigmented.  I believe its almost like a bronze shimmer color.  Also, very creamy.  I really like this one.

Thanks for your patience and be sure to follow for more future reviews!

Aldo Phily Boots Review.

UPDATE!
I was checking the Aldo site recently and realized that they no longer sell the Phily boot in Taupe anymore! 😦 They still have the black one but it seems to be on clearance right now and will probably get discontinue.  I really love these boots though!

Hello beautiful people! During Black Friday, I was able to score these gorgeous boots.  Aldo had a 50% off sale and it’s still going on online right now! So get them while they’re still on sale! It’s originally priced at $100 but it’s currently on sale for $55.99.  I got it for a bit less during Black Friday but this is still a really good deal!  Practically 50%. It comes in two colors: black and taupe but only the taupe color is on sale.

Aldo’s website stock photo of Phily.

You can wear it two ways, all the way up or slightly folded down where the string goes around.

How it looks folded down.

It’s pretty true to size but the calves are bit tight.  I think it’s to keep it from slouching which it does not.  For suede shoes like these, slouching is one the biggest concerns but because these are tight and it has strings to tighten, they stay up the whole time.  I do notice that the strings get untied easily so I’d suggest to double tie it.  It also a zipper on the inside of the shoes.  Makes it easy to adjust your pants.

It’s super comfortable and has a slight wedge to it.  Not very high though.  I’d highly suggest the Aldo insoles even though the boot is comfortable.  It really makes a difference.  I love their insoles and you can use it for all your other shoes also.

One of the best purchases I’ve ever made.  I have a leather over the knee boot but I find the leather boots are much now stuff compared to suede boots.  You won’t regret these!
